About GINM
Ghost Investigations New Mexico's mission is to investigate and document reports of ghosts, hauntings and paranormal activity throughout New Mexico and bordering states using scientific methods and electronic equipment to rule out natural causes for reported phenomena. Our investigations are always free of charge.
Ghost Investigations was started in 2001. Prior to this date, the organization was called the San Diego Ghost Research Society (SDGRS), which was formed in 1996. In the mid 1990's, the internet was just starting to become popular. There were only a handful a ghost related websites and SDGRS was one of them.
GINM approaches every investigation with an open mind, grounded in scientific skeptism. In addition, we do not use devices or methods such as Ouija boards or automatic writing. Furthermore, we do not condone seances or any type of occult practices when dealing with paranormal phenomena and strongly advise others who are looking for paranormal investigators, to avoid groups who employ these methods.
We use the most up-to-date audio, video and surveillance equipment to document our investigations and to record any paranormal activity, and we constantly exchange ideas and information with other nationally recognized paranormal investigation teams. We welcome contact from anyone who needs help or information.
GI conducts all of its investigations using the following equipment:
- Sony MiniDV cameras
- Static Night Vision cameras
- EMF meters
- Digital Audio Recorders
- Non-Contact Thermal scanners
- Digital Cameras
- Environmental Data Loggers
We do not use the following:
K2 EMF meters
Although there are some interesting results by groups using these meters, we have chosen not to. These meters have been shown to react to radio frequency (RF) such as that emitted from FRS radios used by many teams to maintain communication during investigations. Since the K2 meters can be directly manipulated by simply keying a nearby radio, any results from using these meters, must be suspect. (see this article)
Dowsing Rods
We do not employ the use of dowsing rods since the results are rather subjective. There's no data to support and quantify the claimed results of using these rods.
Geiger Counters
There is no data to support that ghosts or spirits emit inonized radiation.

Our research work and investigation evidence has been featured in TV productions and documentaries as well as local, regional and national print media. We are based out of Albuquerque, New Mexico and will travel out of state on a case by case basis.
PLEASE NOTE:
There are MANY groups using "Ghost Investigations" in their name. We are not associated with any of them. We are the New Mexico representatives for The Atlantic Paranormal Society (TAPS).
