Investigation
We arrived at 8pm and met with Josh Bond, the owner. After a complete tour of the location, we decided to focus our efforts in the bar. This was based on recent activity reports in this area.
We set up our equipment and placed a static night vision camera in the bar and set one up in the mercantile. Josh had reported seeing a dark, shadow form in this building near the front door. The camera was positioned facing the door in hopes of capturing this figure on video. It was decided to go dark and the time was around 10:30PM.
We began the investigation with baseline EMF and temperature sweeps. This also enabled us to place digital recorders throughout the location. After our baseline readings were recorded, we began conducting an EVP session in the bar. When we started the EVP session, Kip and myself were seated in the second booth from the rear and I noticed that my left arm felt very cold. I had Kip measure the temp and it was in-line was our baseline readings of around 86 degrees. It was also noted that the location was very quiet and only a few creaks were noted during the first EVP session that lasted approximately 45 minutes.
We left the cameras and recorders running and left the bar. This was to allow us to take a break and get some fresh air. This was also in hopes of capturing sounds when we weren't present.
We resumed the investigation by having Von go back into the bar to continue to investigate alone. This allowed Kip and myself to conduct an EVP session in the mercantile. Kip and I sat down in two wooden chairs that were near the rear of the building and I placed a digital recorder between us on a small wooden chest.
We asked a series of questions in hopes of getting a response. I was able to hear some faint knocking during this EVP session but nothing else was heard. During the time spent in the mercantile I also used a mini dv camera. At two different times, I clearly saw a dull green light and this light was captured on video. No idea as to what this light was.
After about an hour, we joined up with Von in the bar. He reported hearing a few sounds near the bar restrooms, but nothing more. We completed the investigation around 1:30am due to the lack of any tangible activity.
Audio Analysis
The audio data was reviewed first and we were very pleased to discover about a dozen Class A EVPs that were recorded in the bar. A few are as follows and in no particular order:
1. Do you wish to communicate with us? "Nooo"
2. "Just now"
3. "Comment"
4. "It's on"
5. "Come on you asshole"
All of these EVPs sound like they are from the same individual...a man with a gravely voice was heard in all cases. No name or other identifying information was recorded.
The mercantile also revealed many EVPs that were direct responses to our questions. These EVPs were a simple knock and it has the sound of someone knocking on the wooden chest that is between the two chairs. This is also where the digital recorder was placed.
Video Analysis
Video results were harder to quantify and qualify due to a large quantity of floating dust, flying insects and bats. There were two light anomalies that were recorded in the mercantile. These light sources are unexplained but will not be presented as evidence of paranormal activity.
Investigation Conclusion
Based on the quality of the EVPs and that they are in direct response to our questions, we feel very confident in stating that the Cuchillo Bar does indeed have paranormal activity by what would appear to be least one male spirit.
