Investigation Summary

Background
We were contacted to investigate a private home in southwest Albuquerque. The location was a new two-story home and the client reported the following:

A full body apparition of a man
Seeing a little boy in the upstairs hallway
Footsteps climbing the stairs
Wheezing sounds
Footsteps upstairs heard moving from room to room
Moving Shadows
Seeing a man standing at foot of bed
Son being slapped
The sound if something eating the cat food when nothing is seen


Investigation
After interviewing the client and her husband, the reported activity centered around the stairs going to the second level and the master bedroom area. We placed a static night vision camera in the first floor living room to cover anything or anyone going up to the second floor. This decision would later prove to be beneficial and a missed opportunity.

Digital recorders were placed in the master bedroom, a loft area at the top of the stairs and in the first floor hallway near the laundry room. We chose to run handheld miniDVs for the rest of the night. Several EVP sessions were conducted, with interesting results.

The most noted being the sound of a man coughing and clearing his throat in the master bedroom, when the room was empty and the bedroom door was closed. All members and clients were on the first floor. Andy and Richard were in the loft preparing to conduct an EVP session and were the only people up there. This was verified by the static camera that was covering the stairs. The loft area and the master bedroom are on opposite sides of the house and about 25 feet apart.

The digital recorder in the master bedroom recorded Andy saying that he was ready to start. It's clear that he's in another room. This is also captured on the loft recorder as you would expect. Both audio files are presented for comparison.

During an EVP session in the master bedroom, Andy observed a small, dark shadow dart out from under the bed and run into the master bath. We could theorize that this may explain the sound of cat food being eaten. It is to be noted that the clients keep a bowl of dry cat food in their bedroom for their cat to eat at night. When they hear the sound of the cat food being eaten, they turn on the lights and see nothing. Most times the cat stays downstairs.

At one point during the investigation, I went upstairs to talk to Mike and Andy. Everyone else was down stairs. Andy and I were standing outside the master bedroom in the hall and Mike was video taping from inside the bedroom. Andy was facing me with his back to the hall and when he turned around, he saw a small shadow figure, about 6 feet away, go into the upstairs bathroom. I didn't see this because his body was blocking my view. We both went into the bathroom and saw nothing. Video was shot at this time, but our bodies blocked the camera's view. It would have been nice to have had this area covered by static night vision. See video of the event below. The video ONLY documents the event...NOT the shadow and IS NOT presented as evidence.

I had a personal experience while Mike and I were spending time in the loft and I was watching the top of the stairs. I saw what appeared to be a shadow in the shape of a head pop up and then down. Almost as if someone had come up the satirs and saw us and then ducked down. There was enough ambient light in the room to allow me to see just enough against the white walls.

No anomalous events were recorded on video.


Investigation Conclusion
We weren't able to verify all of the claimed paranormal activity. However, based on the EVP evidence and witnessed first hand experiences, we can confidently say that there is paranormal activity of some note occurring at this location. Nothing witnessed could support the claims of physical contact, but that's not to say that it didn't happen. We were able to witness shadows on two separate occasions by two different investigators, myself being one of them.
